Todd McDowell is a survivor. Born in the US in 1974, he spent a large part of his life in Europe and had to adapt too many moves and drastic family changes. Multi-cultural and multi-lingual, he knew from a very early age that he had a calling for psychology. In his teen-age years, friends (and his friends' parents) would ask him for his perspective and advice on how to handle situations and relationship issues. When he was twenty years old, he suffered a near-death experience that could have resulted in a very problematic situation. However, he recovered both physically and psychologically. He realized that his mission in life was to help and uplift others so he went on to successfully complete his education from the University of Oklahoma with a Master's degree in behavioral science and psychological studies in 2005.
McDowell has been a therapist for over 15 years and recently opened up his own clinical agency in South Oklahoma City, Absolute Confidential Counseling. Because of his own life struggles, he has developed deep understanding and empathy for individuals and families in difficult and challenging situations ranging from relationship problems, anger, grief, depression, low self-esteem, and personality disorders. He has an effective and powerful attentiveness to teen-agers who need comprehension and guidance to develop and adapt them to a productive life. His years of practice, his genuine interest in people and his optimism make him a unique counselor.
Todd has years of experience with Couples therapy, anger management, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, attention deficit disorder, borderline personality disorder, narcissistic personality disorder, grief over the loss of loved ones, low self-esteem and also improving people's self-confidence, marital and friendship relationships and organizing time management to maximize productivity on financial levels, physical levels, performance levels and in overall communication.
